ABOUT ME

Akito is a songwriter, musician and producer from England. Of English/Japanese heritage, Dillon Akito Greenland’s first introduction to music and performance was through playing violin at primary school. He took up the piano in his early teens and quickly transitioned from learning theme tunes to composing and recording songs for school friends.

Akito is a prolific artist, penning in excess of 300 songs during his fledgling career, as well as writing and performing six live music and comedy specials. Several of these hour long shows form just a fraction of the vast content on his Youtube channel.

A broad spectrum of musical influence from Tim Minchin to Logic, Miles Davis to Ben Folds Five is amply reflected in his eclectic output, from jazz and musical theatre to punk rock and rap. Regardless of the genre though, Akito’s music is always anchored by complex and creative word play and increasingly intricate arrangements. These traits are perfectly personified on his playful debut single, Count On Me.
